This pack-hunting breed was developed in North Carolina more than 200 years ago to hunt bear and wild boar. They are still used as hunting dogs today and have proven their worth as pack hunters. They also participate in tracking and other dog sports. Plotts are best suited to life in the country where they have plenty of room to roam.
